Wordpress is world’s largely used Content management and blog publishing system. This is used by over millions of bloggers and is most famous CMS. Many of us don’t know that fact that Wordpress is the successor to a CMS project popularly known as cafelog/b2 until may 2003. Its precursor was one of the most extensive used CMS that time. Initially started as a blog publishing platform , its developers successfully made a CMS out of it. Wordpress is one of the primitive CMS available to the users all over the world. And the best part is that it is an open source web content management system.

Joomla is one of the most used Content Management Systems in the world. Joomla is the result of the fork of a software called Mambo. Mambo was a CMS that was used to create websites and managing their content through simple web interface. Joomla is the fork of Mambo. Fork implies the development of a new project by working on the source code of another (parent ) project to create a distinct piece of software. So, the development of Joomla was made possible by modifying the source code of project Mambo. Joomla came into existence on August 17, 2005 by the Joomla development team.
